CULTIVATING COMMUNITIES

For over a year now, a working group (comprising City of Edinburgh Council officials, representatives from the National Society of Allotment & Leisure Gardens, the Scottish Allotments and Gardens Society, the Federation of Edinburgh & District Allotment and Gardens Associations and Private Allotments) has been meeting to prepare a Strategy for Edinburgh's Allotments.

With a commitment by all parties to produce a good and workable strategy, and with a growing understanding of the points of view of others, "Cultivating Communities" emerged with the unanimous backing of the group.

The strategy has now been formally accepted by the Council Executive. The task of implementing it now begins.
