This is a good opportunity for allotment holders to get involved,
brush up your skills and spread the message of the benefits of composting.
LEEP Recycling’s newest project aims to encourage everyone
to take up home composting. The Master Composter project will
be recruiting volunteers from across the City who will then
receive training in effective home composting.
Following the training, these volunteers will promote
composting within their own communities. Volunteers
will have the opportunity to visit larger-scale
compost sites, such as Colinton Community Compost
and will also receive incentives for taking part.
Master Composter training programmes were established
over 10 years ago in the USA and Canada, and are extremely
popular and successful in promoting the benefits of home composting.
For more information on the project, contact Emma Clements,
Master Composter Project Officer on 0131 538 5381,
or write to her at LEEP Recycling, 36 Newhaven Road, Edinburgh EH6 5PY.
